The hallmark and core of the revitalized community remains its renowned Bais Medrash program. Under the leadership of Rabbi Ahron Kaufman, the bochurim in the Bais Medrash program are motivated to achieve, and encouraged to surpass their highest aspirations. Through a rigorous schedule, with an emphasis on completing the masechtah, the bochurim are trained to set high goals and to develop methods for reaching them. Character development is a key area in the students’ growth as they are carefully molded to be the future leaders of Klal Yisroel. The hallmark of the rebbeim is the warmth and constant thought they have for each and every individual bochur’s needs and goals. The care and concern the Rebbeim demonstrate for the spiritual growth and physical well-being of the bochurim has been the key to making the Yeshiva Ateres Shmuel of Waterbury Bais Medrash program so successful. With 125 Bochurim presently learning in the Bais Medrash, and over 650 alumni, Waterbury’s Bais Medrash program has taken its place as a shining light for the entire Jewish community.
