Dedicated in memory of Mrs. Chaya Raizel (Elizabeth) Brecher-Kleinbard, A”H by her children, Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Brecher and family, the kollel at Yeshiva Ateres Shmuel of Waterbury is an innovative yet high-caliber institution. A prime feature of Kollel Ateres Chaya Raizel is the close bonding of rebbe and talmid as the Chavrei haKollel advance to the highest levels of limud haTorah and hashkafas hachaim. Under the devoted leadership and guidance of HaRav Chaim Cohen shlita, who serves as the Rosh Kollel, and Reb Yerachmiel Karr, Segan Rosh Kollel, Kollel Ateres Chaya Raizel has succeeded in attracting, since its inception, over forty married Torah scholars, primarily from amongst the Yeshiva’s talmidim. Currently, there are many yungerleit studying in the Kollel. The afternoon seder program has recently been embraced by a contingent of working community members and rebbeim who eagerly anticipate their daily seder within the Kollel, as well as Rav Cohen’s weekly chaburos. In addition to greatly enhancing and elevating the Torah study of its members, and by extension, the entire student body of the Yeshiva, this unique Kollel also contributes immensely to the growth and development of the Waterbury and larger Connecticut community.
